Thanks to the Board, and all others involved, for an enjoyable time at the Shareholders' Open Day on 1st October. Amazing progress on the loco. Let's hope that all the shareholders who weren't there realise just how near we are to having a working loco - but that the current rate of progress is dependent on them putting their hands in their pockets and contributing to the final push over the next 12 months or so.

This event is not the first time 76079 has appeared in the guise of 76084. Some years ago ex-Lower Darwen engineman and shareholder in 76084 arranged a Lower Darwen Reunion which took place on the East Lancashire Railway. 76079 was renumbered to '84 and a 4F was renumbered to a member of the class shedded at 24D. Sadly, the day I went to view the spectacle it was a typical Lancashire day in terms of weather and it was before I found the joy of digital SLRs with lense hoods. The resulting images on my point-and-shoot were blurred through rain-drops.
If anyone has been to the Gala and got images of '76084' they don't mind sharing please email them to publicity@standard4.com -- THANKS

The Board meeting went well and I came away with only a few actions. The caravanning was brilliant with the landowner having chickens and a quiet rooster so fresh eggs for breakfast. The site was just off the York ring road and very well kept. I think we'll be returning there at some time.
The next Board Meeting is at Hepscott.
