The Tynesider rail tour of 10 March 2012 passed the Hepscott restoration facility of 76084. The crew knew of this and drew 76084 out of her Restoration Shed so she could be fully appreciated by the enthusiasts on the charter.
70013, part of the National Collection, took her passengers to Morpeth before returning light engine to be watered then returned her passengers to York for Scunthorpe from where the charter had originated.
Our image looks like two pictures stuck together but it was taken straddling the fence.
As a result of putting 76084 on display we have had interest shown in our project through the various social media we are active on. Some even want to become shareholders which is brilliant.
A brilliant photo with a cation to be proud of is to be found in Issue 400 of Steam Railways and I think the same pic is on Flickr thanks to loose_grip_99 http://www.flickr.com/photos/loose_grip_99/6989173009/

Hi,
I heard that you were planning an open day for the general public.
Have I missed it?
If not could you please send me the details.
Thanks.
Alex,
Humble apologies but our Footplate forum has been little used and I missed the notification of your message form way back in October last year. In fact I only discovered your post when I revisited the blog site to consider resurrecting it for 76084′s return to traffic!!
Our Open day was back in October and your request for details was in good time for you to attend which makes me feel awful for missing your message. If it is any consolation it was a bitterly cold day with the best place being next to the out-of-frames boiler which was under its first steam test. Some pictures here http://www.flickr.com/photos/76084standard4/sets/72157631888152397/
76084 nears completion at Hepscott – the tender is already at the NNR. I hope to see her in traffic soon.
Apologies once more.
