The Barry Standard 4s
Five of the BR Standard 4 2-6-0s were bought by Woodham Brothers for eventual scrapping. As documented elsewhere, the main workload at the scrapyard was the scrapping of hundreds of redundant coal wagons with the stock of over 200 locomotives remaining mostly intact.

Some 75 locomotives were scrapped at Woodhams but the majority (71) went between 1959 and 1965 with only 4 scrapped between 1966 and 1980. Sadly sister and fellow shed mate 76080 was one of them.

Have a look at our page on 76084’s stay at Barry.

Both sister and one time Shed Mate at Sutton Oak, 76079 and 76084 operate on the main line though 76079 is restricted to the short length of Newtwork Rail metals from Grosmont to Whitby.
